A magnificent scene unfolded on November 23, 2025, at Marina Barrage as 5,000 participants came together for Run For Hope 2025, standing united in the fight against cancer. For the second year in a row, the event hit full capacity, a powerful testament to Singapore’s enduring community spirit, perseverance, and hope.

Now in its 32nd edition, Run For Hope, organised by Four Seasons Hotel Singapore since 1993 and in support of the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) since 2008, continues its long-standing mission of raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Over the decades, the event has grown into one of Singapore’s most iconic symbols of solidarity in the battle against cancer.

The run was graced by Guest of Honour Mr. Eric Chua, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Social and Family Development, who flagged off both the 5 kilometre (3.1 miles) and 10 kilometre (6.2 miles) runs.

“It’s incredibly moving to see 5,000 people rally once again for this important cause,” shares Peter Draminsky, Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Singapore. “We are proud to stand alongside National Cancer Centre Singapore and the Singapore community in driving progress towards a cancer-free future. Run For Hope truly demonstrates the strength of what we can achieve together, and we invite the public to join us in this shared mission by continuing to support life-saving research.”

As the sun rose over Marina Barrage, the air buzzed with emotion and energy. Cancer survivors, caregivers, families, and supporters ran side by side, dedicating their strides to loved ones lost, or still bravely fighting the disease. Their shared determination reflected the event’s core mission: to empower the community to make a tangible difference through awareness, research, and unity. Beyond the run, participants were invited to dedicate their runs to the Bibs of Bravery tribute wall to honour loved ones and heroes affected by cancer.

One of the heroes at Run For Hope 2025 was Lin Jiahui, diagnosed with stage 4 ROS1-positive lung cancer in May 2024. Once an avid cyclist who relished weekly rides with friends, she has since embraced a gentler pace of life. Still, Jiahui remains active, cycling short distances and pursuing photography, a passion she shared with her late best friend, Anna, who passed away from cervical cancer earlier this year. Now in her second year of joining Run For Hope, Jiahui dedicated her 5 kilometre (3.1 miles) run to Anna, carrying forward a story of hope, remembrance, and quiet strength.

“Run For Hope embodies the spirit of togetherness in our nation’s fight against cancer,” says Prof Lim Soon Thye, CEO, NCCS. “More Singaporeans are being diagnosed with cancer every day, so it is vital that we keep innovating to improve treatment outcomes and survival rates for cancer patients. The funds raised from today’s meaningful event help to further advance cancer research that can save lives. We are deeply grateful to Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, our sponsors, and participants for sharing our vision to offer all cancer patients and their families hope for a cancer-free tomorrow."

As Singapore’s longest-running cancer awareness and research event, Run For Hope continues to be a rallying point for hope, courage, and compassion. This year’s event has raised SGD 411,000 for the National Cancer Centre Research Fund to date but members of the public can continue to support the cause by contributing via the website at https://www.runforhopesg.com/ until December 31, 2025.

Run For Hope is proudly supported by Four Seasons Hotel Singapore and National Cancer Centre Singapore.
