Summer Lo began her hospitality journey with Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong in 2014, starting at Blue Bar. There, she dedicated five years to mastering her craft across various roles, progressing from Bartender to Captain, then Head Bartender and Assistant Manager.
Her creativity and passion for mixology shone through as she participated in several prestigious competitions. Notably, in 2019, she was awarded 1st Runner-Up in the World Class Hong Kong competition along with the title of “Most Popular Bartender.” The same year, she triumphed in the inaugural Speed Rack Asia competition, which garnered her recognition on BBC News.
Seeking new challenges, Summer transitioned to Caprice Bar – an intimate wine bar next to the famed Hong Kong Michelin-starred French restaurant Caprice. Under her leadership, Caprice Bar was recognised as #34 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars in 2020 and climbed up to #10 in 2021.
In 2021, Summer took on the role of Opening Manager for a transformative renovation project that led to the birth of ARGO. She expertly managed bar design, personnel training, product sourcing, and menu development. Her efforts and vision paid off as ARGO swiftly earned remarkable accolades, ranking #3 in Asia’s 50 Best Bars and #28 in the World’s 50 Best Bars within its first year.
Since 2022, Summer has served as the Assistant Director of Food and Beverage, playing a pivotal role in enhancing guest satisfaction and fostering collaboration with the culinary team. Her dedication to the Four Seasons brand is unwavering, and she truly embodies the brand’s culture and values.
With more than a decade of experience, Summer arrives in Singapore as Director of Food and Beverage and brings with her a wealth of operational experience to support the team in bringing their creative vision to life across the Hotel’s dining and entertainment outlets, including wedding and events. “Passion and creativity are the heartbeat of the food and beverage world, and even more so in such high-energy dynamic cities like Hong Kong and Singapore, where the culinary landscape is constantly evolving,” she says. “To thrive, we must not only anticipate trends but create personalized experiences that surprise and delight,” noting that it is the drive to innovate and the love for the craft that sets Four Seasons culinary craftsman apart.
On a personal note, Summer loves soaking up the sun and hiking, even taking on a 100 km fundraising hike, organised by Oxfam. She also enjoys these adventures with her wife, Carmen, and their poodle, E-or on the "easier" trails. When she’s not at the Hotel, Summer can be found exploring new restaurants and bars, always on the lookout for the next exciting concept.
