Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar Debuts its Permanent Art Installations by Acclaimed Artist Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar

Renowned as a hub of cultural and artistic innovation, the most recent collaboration by Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar with the acclaimed artist Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar was a celebration of creativity, connection, and the beauty of life. On November 27, 2024, the stunning property finally revealed two artworks by Behnam-Bakhtiar, created especially for the hotel. The two large-scale master works, titled Jardin de la Paix (Garden of Peace) and Jardin de la Vie (Garden of Life), embody Behnam-Bakhtiar’s latest artistic exploration, accompanied by a temporary display of Life Energy miniature paintings.

Currently in residence at Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar, the serendipitous acquaintance between Behnam-Bakhtiar and the property began during a chance visit to La Méditerranée Robuchon. Amid the warmth of the restaurant, he was immediately transported to the cherished memories of his Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat home in the French Riviera. This nostalgic experience was further enhanced by his longstanding relationship with Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel, which inspired him to create a unique collaboration with Four Seasons Resort and Residences at The Pearl-Qatar.

Born in 1984 in Neuilly-Sur-Seine, France, Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar has achieved international recognition for his groundbreaking peinture raclée style. By using a meticulous process of layering and scraping, he crafts vibrant and evocative pieces that explore deeply personal stories alongside the universal human experience. His work has been showcased in some of the world’s most esteemed venues, including Phillips and Saatchi Gallery in London, Sotheby’s in Monaco, and the iconic Villa Santo Sospir in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, among others.

Speaking about the collaboration, artist Sassan Behnam-Bakhtiar says, “To connect to people, the land, nature and the sea is the most valuable exchange I can have as an artist who paints energy. Once I arrived in Doha from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, I constantly had this feeling of getting lost in the surrounding lands stretching towards the sea, while getting lost in the dunes and staring at star-filled skies. The two masterpieces, Jardin de la Paix and Jardin de la Vie, are part of Behnam-Bakhtiar’s acclaimed Tableau Abstrait series and reflect his exploration of human connection and the natural world.
