Four Seasons Hotel Tunis announces the appointment of Hani Abulafi as Hotel Manager. Holding the role of second management position at the luxury address in the leafy Gammarth section of the Tunisian capital, Abulafi has oversight of all operations with an objective of setting the tone for success throughout the property.

Abulafi is particularly keen on the “people element” at the heart of the operation, he says. “That's what truly resonates with me. My primary dedication is to foster a collaborative team approach aimed at elevating every aspect of the experience our guests and visitors come here to enjoy.”

Born in Kuwait, Abulafi studied in the UK and lived in the US before relocating with his family to Amman, Jordan, in the early 1990s. By the time he reached his early 20s, Abulafi was working full-time in the family business and soon realized his profound passion for hotel life. He pursued his burgeoning passion for hospitality, first earning a Bachelor’s degree with honours in hotel and catering management from Huddersfield University in England.

Soon enough, Abulafi joined Four Seasons, returning home to Jordan in 2005 to become Sales Manager of Four Seasons Hotel Amman. Four years later, he ascended to the role of Director of Sales. Over the years, he steadily climbed the career ladder and eventually assuming the responsibility of Director of Sales and Marketing in Amman. In 2017 enticed by the prospect of being an integral part of the guest experience rather than merely selling it, he transitioned to the position of Director of Rooms at Four Seasons Hotel Doha, spending four years in the Qatari capital before being appointed to his current position in Tunis in summer 2023.

While connecting with guests remains a top priority for Abulafi, he is equally committed to seizing opportunities that empower the Hotel team, the majority of whom proudly represent Tunisia. "The more tools and expertise we can offer our managers and team members, the more they can excel not only in their roles here but also in their lifelong careers."

While he continues to adapt to the city and the North African way of life, Abulafi is enjoying the time he spends exploring Tunisia alongside his family. Much like his wife, he eagerly anticipates introducing his young children Raya and Mahfouz to a new and diverse culture. He believes that by immersing them to different parts of the world at a young age, we can enrich their lives in the long run.
