Appetite for Creativity: est at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi Presents Experiential Art Luncheon with Artist Saki Tanaka

May 2, 2024,
Tokyo, Japan

Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi invites guests to whet their appetite (and imagination) for an experiential art luncheon at est on May 25, 2024.

The signature Japanese-French restaurant, which has received a Michelin star for three consecutive years, is collaborating with artist Saki Tanaka to unveil a captivating dining experience that blurs the boundaries between art and cuisine.

A mesmerizing live art performance sets the stage. Marvel at Saki’s vibrant hues and hypnotic rhythms as she brings her artwork to life, while est’s culinary team unfolds delicacies inspired by the artist’s distinctive style. Chef Guillaume Bracaval makes generous use of early summer vegetables to conjure dishes that reflect Saki’s creative language, taking guests on a sensory adventure of colour and flavour.

The afternoon concludes with a striking sweet symphony by Pastry Chef Michele Abbatemarco, recently named Best Pastry Chef by Gault&Millau Japan 2024. For this special event, Michele will unveil “Colour Orchestra,” an intricate composition of strawberries, rhubarb and lemon, based on Saki’s painting of the same name.

Guest will be swept up in the tempo of creation through bold, overlapping strokes and colours, capturing the movements of an orchestral conductor. Like an orchestra, diverse elements are unified into a harmonious whole with masterful flair. This hallmark art technique is a nod to the trademark Japanese aesthetics of ikebana and calligraphy.

est will also showcase a collection of Saki’s artworks, providing an opportunity to delve deeper into her imaginative universe. Following the live art performance, the artist will be available to converse with guests, who can learn more about the method and inspiration for pieces that catch their eye.

Guest will venture into an immersive experience of fine dining and artistry, crafted to renew the senses and spark joy. Hosted in the sunlit elegance of est, this special art luncheon is available for one afternoon only.
