Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla Welcomes Back James Beard Award-Winning Chef Nancy Silverton
Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla announces that celebrated chef, baker, author and James Beard Award winner Nancy Silverton will bring her renowned culinary expertise back to the island for an exclusive three-night residency from January 17 to 20, 2025 at SALT. This exceptional collaboration is part of the Resort's ongoing Chef in Residence program, which features world-class chefs and mixologists showcasing their craft in a setting of unparalleled luxury.
In partnership with Executive Chef Manu Calderon and the Resort’s talented culinary team, Chef Silverton will craft menu items that highlight the island’s rich local ingredients, seamlessly blending them with her signature Italian-inspired flavours and the celebrated Mozza experience that has solidified her as a culinary icon. Featured dishes include Braised Beef Cheek with Salsa Verde and Mashed Potatoes, Salmon with Lentils and Cabbage Sotto'cetto, and Apple Crisp with Vanilla Gelato.
Chef Silverton's journey into the culinary world began with a determination to perfect her pastry skills, leading her to the prestigious Lenotre Culinary Institute in France. Her career soared as she became the head pastry chef at Wolfgang Puck’s innovative southern California restaurant, Spago.
A self-taught master of bread baking, Silverton's passion culminated in the creation of La Brea Bakery in 1989. What started in a tiny storefront has grown into the nation’s top artisan bakery with 11 locations and global footprint in 17 different countries. In 1990, the James Beard Foundation honoured her as "Pastry Chef of the Year," and in 2014, she received the coveted James Beard Award for “Outstanding Chef.”
Her impact extends beyond the restaurant world, as she has authored 11 cookbooks, sharing her love for fine foods and culinary expertise. One of her recent culinary creations, The Cookie That Changed My Life: And More Than 100 Other Classic Cakes, Cookies, Muffins & Pies That Will Change Yours was named a New York Times bestseller.
"We are thrilled to welcome back Chef Nancy Silverton to our Chef in Residence Program," says Diego Stembert, General Manager of Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla. “Her extraordinary talent and passion for culinary excellence perfectly complements our dedication to creating distinctive five-star experiences.”
