Buenos Aires, Argentina

The award-winning Elena restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires reaffirms its commitment to excellence in the world culinary scene and welcomes, on May 22, 2025, Chef Onildo Rocha, one of the leaders of Brazilian gastronomy.

In charge of Notiê restaurant,in São Paulo, ranked #85 on the list of Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants, Onildo brings his “armorial cuisine” to Argentina for the first time, a term inspired by the movement with the same name, coined by the writer Ariano Suassuna. Under this concept, Onildo starts from the richness of Brazilian popular culture, its products and knowledge, to transform them into erudite culinary art, celebrating the knowledge, originality and development of the largest country in Latin America.

Since the opening of Notiê, Onildo and his team have been dedicated to thoroughly researching the different regions of Brazil, presenting in each season an original and signature menu, which reflects in a multisensory and immersive way the knowledge acquired during their expeditions, valuing the national biomes and cultures, and considering seasonality. Upon returning from each trip, he makes sure to connect all the senses through gastronomy, going far beyond the ingredients. This work consolidated the restaurant as a unique research laboratory in Brazil, and justified for three consecutive years the recognition of “Best Brazilian Restaurant,” granted by Veja São Paulo magazine.

It is a bit of this knowledge, also celebrated by the Michelin Guide Brazil 2024, that Onildo now brings to Buenos Aires for a unique dinner in collaboration with Executive Chef Juan Gaffuri, responsible for the cuisine of the award-winning Elena restaurant.

A gastronomic emblem, Elena restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Buenos Aires has been included in the Michelin Guide Argentina 2025, ranked #40 in the Latin America’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022—recognition that it has maintained for eleven consecutive years, being the only restaurant within a five-star hotel in Latin America to earn such an achievement—and recently ranked #56 in The World’s 101 Best Steak Restaurants. Inspired by the historic houses of San Telmo neighbourhood, Elena offers a gastronomic proposal based on the Argentine culture brought by European immigrants, with a distinctive characteristic: dry-aged meat.

The restaurant also has an impressive selection of the best regional wines of Argentina, with more than 400 labels coming from north to south, and from the Andes to the ocean, in addition to a wide offer by the glass.
