Geneva, Switzerland

Four Seasons Hotel des Bergues Geneva has launched a range of activities to celebrate the upcoming festive season. At this time of year, the Hotel takes on a magical appearance, with elaborate Christmas decorations adorning the interiors. Pine garlands and ribbons decorate banisters and mantelpieces while a gorgeous pine tree stands majestically at the entrance, its branches styled with red ribbons and adorned with hand-painted glass baubles. The Hotel is conveniently located steps away from Geneva Old Town, where cobbled streets and snow-dusted squares are filled with restaurants, boutiques and independent shops.

Il Lago

At Il Lago, Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Sena has created exquisite festive dishes based on sharing and conviviality. The Christmas Day menu takes guests on a veritable culinary journey from the south to the north of Italy and beyond, with the likes of salt cod and sardines from the Amalfi Coast, and white truffle and fassona beef – a highly prized lean meat sourced from grass-fed cows – hailing from Piedmont in northwestern Italy.

Christmas dinner is available at a price of CHF 230 (per person, excluding wines).

To celebrate New Year, Chef Sena has crafted a festive menu that honours his southern Italian roots, with the likes of a Mediterranean fish platter featuring langoustines, sea urchins and caviar, and homemade pasta with blue lobster, pigeon and black truffle.

A musical quartet will infuse the evening with a lively ambience between 9:00 pm and 12:00 midnight, setting the stage for an energetic countdown to welcome the New Year in style. Wine pairings by Head Sommelier Salvatore Salerno will be available too.

New Year's Eve dinner is available at a price of CHF 390 (per person, excluding wines).

Izumi

At restaurant Izumi, Executive Chef Toshikazu Kato has crafted a selection of festive dishes available throughout December 2023. Guests will be able to indulge in Japanese dishes with an international twist, with the likes of chutoro tataki (blue fin tuna), sauteed forest mushrooms, and hoba yaki duck breast.

On New Year’s Eve, guests will have the unique opportunity to celebrate the evening from the Hotel’s iconic rooftop with a carefully thought-out omakase menu. The chef will showcase the very best of his creativity and skills to give life to culinary creations such as a festive sushi dish and char-grilled wagyu with tisazu butter, mushroom and crispy artichoke. The restaurant’s rooftop location offers the perfect setting to enjoy spectacular lake views, with firework displays illuminating the night sky come midnight. Live piano music will further add to the ambience.

New Year’s Eve dinner on Izumi rooftop is priced at CHF 500 (per person, excluding wines).

Bar des Bergues

Overlooking Place des Bergues, Bar des Bergues offers a cosy, convivial setting to enjoy a laidback festive meal and Christmas-inspired cocktails. Alongside the bar’s usual culinary offering, the menus will include festive creations such as guinea fowl served with chestnuts, barley, salted popcorn and white truffle. The bar’s mixologists will also prepare signature Christmas and New Year’s Eve cocktails to immerse guests in the festive spirit. Made with a velvety cocoa cream, cassis, lemon juice and ginger beer, the Bar’s Christmas cocktail is garnished with a beautiful rose and a strawberry dipped in rich chocolate. During the day, little guests can indulge in the Hotel’s signature hot chocolate topped with marshmallows.

Salon Dufour Pastry Trolley

Between December 5 and 22, 2023, a pastry trolley brimming with festive delights will be set up in Salon Dufour. Available daily between 12:00 noon and 9:00 pm, the trolley is a veritable feast for the senses, with French sable biscuits, gingerbread and homemade cookies available alongside the pastry chef’s signature Yule Log. Live harp performances and piano sessions enhance the festive ambience.
