On October 17, 2024, the most recent edition of the Michelin Tokyo Guide awarded a third star to SÉZANNE, the signature French restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi.

Chef Daniel Calvert’s exemplary cuisine continued to impress Guide inspectors who revised their rating upwards from two stars in 2022-23 to three stars in 2024, recognising SÉZANNE as “worth a special journey.”

SÉZANNE now takes its place among the most celebrated dining destinations in the world, having won the ultimate culinary accolade. Earlier this year, the restaurant was awarded the #1 rank on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, along with the title of Best Restaurant in Japan.

“We are deeply humbled and immensely proud to receive the most prestigious recognition in our industry. Thank you to the Michelin Guide for placing their trust in our commitment to excellence,” says Chef Daniel. “This distinction belongs to every single member of our team who has poured their heart into our vision, and it is through their tireless devotion that we have achieved this monumental milestone. We are also deeply grateful for the support of our guests and partners who have been right there with us on this extraordinary journey.”

General Manager Jens Wycisk also congratulates the team: “What makes dining at SÉZANNE truly exceptional is the care that goes into every step of the experience, from procuring and crafting ingredients to delivering personalised moments for guests. Congratulations to Chef Daniel and his team for achieving the dream of every fine dining restaurant in the world.”

Dynamic French Dining in the Heart of Tokyo

Helmed by the singular vision of Chef Daniel, SÉZANNE serves classically rooted modern French cuisine, crafted with a light touch and plated with precision. With a focus on prized ingredients sourced from across Japan, menus are updated seasonally, concluding with elegant desserts by Executive Pastry Chef Patrick Thibaud.

Diners can sip their way through an eclectic collection of Champagne, wine and sake, meticulously chosen by Sommelier Nobuhide Otsuka. As a Krug Ambassador, SÉZANNE also offers exclusive Champagnes from Maison Krug.

Rising gently above the iconic boulevards of Marunouchi, the dining room speaks a language of relaxed luxury. Curated by acclaimed designer Andre Fu, the interiors blend French craftsmanship with Japanese elements to set the stage for Chef Daniel’s cuisine. Guests can take a seat by the silk-lined French panels for an intimate meal, or dine by the sleek show kitchen for a closer connection with the cooking journey.

At the Chef’s Table Private Room, guests have the chance to experience SÉZANNE’s orchestra-like culinary performance first hand, hosted personally by Chef Daniel.
