A Glimpse of Paradise at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle
The camp invites guests to a magical escape in the northern Thai wilderness among the bamboo thickets of the Golden Triangle
A Glimpse of Paradise may not be enough, but ideal for those who want a rejuvenating breather from the chaotic urban jungles – transporting guests to the life and times of the 19th century explorer in the famed bamboo jungles of the Golden Triangle. “A memorable experience awaits,” affirms Paweena Waraha, Camp Manager. “Soak in the rock pool surrounded by the woods, tune off your screens – tune into birdsong, reconnect with loved ones.”
Magic Touches in the Bamboo Thickets
Ideal for those who desire a quick taste of jungle adventure, the team of camp hosts will create a personalised itinerary, tailor-made to suit every guest’s needs. “Paradise means different things for different people. This package includes accommodation and meals – we leave the rest to our guests to decide,” shares Paweena. Whether it is glamping in the luxury tents while enjoying a sundowner on the deck, relaxing in the jungle spa or learning the art of traditional fishing, the camp offers guests the rare chance to spend quality time with themselves while making a meaningful connection with nature.
Culinary Exploration
Guests congregate at Nong Yao restaurant where they are treated to a special culinary journey, curated by the Camp Chef Sirintip Sianglert, who brings the best of flavours from Thailand, Myanmar, and Laos the plate. Signature favourites include the northern delicacy khao soi, while the set dinner menus explore a wide range of cuisines including international favourites. While the all-inclusive meal in the camp promises the freshness of seasonal ingredients and authentic flavours, it is the additional dining experiences that tempt the palate. From riverside dinners, served up camp-style with a bottle of wine and a BBQ menu, to cocktails and canapes at the jungle peninsula served atop the camp’s trusty Land Rover, there are intimate moments to look forward to at every meal. “For a special treat, the camp chef cooks up a Lanna-style, royal meal for two served as a kanthok dinner, on a traditional rattan tray typical of this region in northern Thailand,” she shares.
Sundown Sips
After a day of adventure in the bamboo jungles, guests find themselves settling into the comfortable couches at the Burma Bar, where the cocktails rival the stunning sunsets views over Myanmar. The delectable concoctions include signature favourites inspired by the region such as Akha Fashion (coffee-infused bourbon, smoked syrup, Angostura bitters, burnt cinnamon), Tom Yum Martini (tom yum spices and vodka infusion, triple sec, fresh lime juice) and Lemongrass Vodka Martini (lemongrass infusion, triple sec, fresh lime juice). “Guests can also enjoy a tasting session of artisanal cheeses as well as a private wine-pairing dinner at our thatched-roof interpretation of a wine cave, which offers an impressive collection of vintages and local gems,” adds Paweena.
Immersive Relaxation
Open-air and embracing the jungle in all its glory, the spa at the camp is designed to immediately relax and rejuvenate. Here, the Royal Recovery ritual helps detox as large poultices filled with camphor, lime and lemongrass massage the whole body. “Our signature experience uses the Ruak bamboo that grows in the region,” the Camp Manager shares. After a foot bath with the refreshing makrut lime grown at the camp, local herbal oils and smooth natural bamboo sticks are used to target deep-seated muscle tension. “For couples, we recommend the Lhong Rak Chiang Rai – Couples Connect,” she continues. Infused with the flowers of love and connection – jasmine and ylang ylang – and ground with sandalwood, this couples’ treatment is designed to bring gentleness, sensitivity, and an open heart. “Delicate yet purposeful, this experience takes couples on a unique massage performed on a water mattress,” she shares. Incorporating supportive and sensuous underbody movements, the entire massage is given in the face up position. Afterwards, guests bathe in a specially prepared rose and tuberose tub to linger in joy and union.
“Reserve three nights with us, but beware: it could be the beginning of a lifelong love affair with the wild,” teases Paweena.
