Winter Wonderland – No Skis Required

Jackson Hole, U.S.A.

Featuring slope-side access to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Four Seasons Resort and Residences Jackson Hole has long been known as a premier ski destination. But skiing is just one part of what makes winter magical in Jackson Hole. Chef Concierge Taryn Shackleton shares her top 10 tips below for non-skiing pursuits to plan this season:

Take a Snow Coach to Yellowstone

See the sites on a guided snowmobile tour during a half-day excursion or a full, three-day adventure. Traveling with younger children? Snow-coach tours are great for families and take you through Yellowstone in heated comfort.

Go on a Snowmobile Tour

Watch wildlife on a trip into the Gros Ventre Mountains, ride powder stashes up at the Continental Divide, or snowmobile to Granite Hot Springs and take a dip in their hot spring pool. These guided tours include all necessary gear (helmets, snowsuits, boots and gloves).

Enjoy a Peaceful Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride

Don’t forget your camera as this hour-long ride takes you face-to-face with the animals of the National Elk Refuge. Venture across the Refuge to the sounds of snow crunching beneath the horses’ feet, encountering sights that can only be found in this unique setting.

Explore the Winter Wonderland by Snow Shoe

Snowshoeing tours are offered with Hole Hiking Experience. Our concierge team also can arrange a group or private tour. Hole Hiking provides complimentary snowshoe equipment. Guided or unguided trips are available.

Embark on a Wildlife Safari

Scout for native roaming animals of the area including elk, moose and big horn sheep from the comfort of one of the Resort’s luxury SUVs. This four-hour excursion is available for both sunrise and sunset, and is great for all ages.

Discover Snow-Covered Terrain Via Dog Sled

Embark on a winter adventure with a loveable dog team, exploring the snow-covered terrain along the Continental Divide and taking full advantage of Jackson Hole’s pristine mountain scenery.

Take a Tubing Adventure

Not far from our Resort, Snow King Resort’s Tubing Park offers a fun alternative to skiing. Guests can enjoy the spectacular scenery while riding the tow lift to the top of the hill, then take hold of the inner tube for a thrilling ride down the park’s groomed trails.

Indulge at the Spa

What better way to combat the local elements after a day of alpine adventure than a visit to The Spa? Our full-service Spa offers an array of treatments, many using locally sourced ingredients, such as the new Wildcrafted Facial.

Take a Dip in the Heated Outdoor Pool

We recommend taking a dip as the alpine glow sets in just before dusk. Rejuvenate tired muscles in any of our three outdoor heated spa tubs while towels and robes are kept warm in heater boxes.

Give It Your Best Shot

Learn to shoot or improve your skills with a team of dedicated instructors, committed to safety and passionate about the sport of shooting.  Seasonal choices include both clay shooting and archery, as well as an array of other options.
