The pace of life slows down for winter and the cold weather encourages one to seek out warmth in the smaller pleasures without sacrificing the good customs that define urban life. One of those customs – the traditional afternoon relaxation on a terrace, even when surrounded by the winter chill – is taken to new heights on the Winter Terrace at Dani Brasserie. Located on the seventh floor of Four Seasons Hotel Madrid and with unbeatable views of the blanketing Christmas lights that bathe the capital at this time of year, the terrace at the brasserie run by Chef Dani García offers a great sheltered spot for the perfect conclusion to any winter’s day plan.

The Winter Terrace aims to offer a genuine après-ski atmosphere in the skies of Madrid with a culinary proposal designed in partnership with Ruinart to include the full range of its exclusive sparkling drinks. As official partner, this champagne brand becomes the soul of the experience and offers perfect synergy between the effervescent luxury of its liquid delights and the winter’s afternoon luxury of Dani García.

The menu includes a careful selection of starters designed for shared indulgence. Oysters with caviar, a platter of shellfish or Iberian meats and other creations celebrate the seasonality of produce in general and the jewel of this season in particular: black truffle. Examples of that include the artichoke carpaccio with truffle and the pizza boasting this characteristic ingredient. A fondue – the quintessential Swiss delight – comes next and has been reinvented here in three versions: champagne, tomato and truffle, a dish that becomes the centrepiece for the tables at the Winter Terrace.

The main courses then pay genuine tribute to the comfort we seek at this time of year: creamy rice with truffle, linguini with caviar, and lobster; three dishes that blend elegance with warmth and are perfect for enjoying luxury in its most comforting form.

To satisfy those with a sweet tooth, the Winter Terrace also offers a chocolate fondue with marshmallow s’mores to recreate the pleasure of toasting them over a fire beneath the stars. This ritual is accompanied by sweet pumpkin and pecan ice-cream with black truffle, a dessert designed to accentuate the most charming flavours of the season.

The tables will also be graced by cocktails, glasses of glühwein (the mulled wine that evokes the magic of Christmas markets) and, of course, Ruinart champagne, alternating between mugs of steaming hot chocolate, another classic on the cold winter nights accompanied by churros or a splash of brandy. However, the charms of the Winter Terrace transcend the palate. Every detail of the décor, from the tablecloths to the amenities providing the warmth, invite guests to enjoy a lazy afternoon at a venue that blends gastronomic excellence with the cozy spirit of winter, all accompanied by the exclusive bubbles of Ruinart.

About Maison Ruinart

The first champagne Maison in history, Ruinart is much more than a simple champagne. Since it was founded in 1729, it has successfully combined mastery and audacity to create exceptional champagnes, the purity and taste of which is based on the Chardonnay grape variety. Maison Ruinart is located above the crayères, an ancient chalk-walled underground cellar built by the Romans that offers an unbeatable place to age its champagnes. It was recognized in 1931 as the only National Monument cellar in France and as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2015.

Ruinart has become the champagne of the art world thanks to the relationships it has developed with artists such as Piet Hein Eek, Hervé van der Straeten, Georgia Russell, José María Ciria, Abraham Lacalle, Hubert Le Gall, Erwin Olaf, Jaume Plensa, Liu Bolin and Vik Muniz among many others.
