Events to Engage and Inspire

Naviva invites guests to revel in creativity of all kinds through a series of summer events and activations. These one-time experiences will showcase a host of creative talents and accomplishments, with a focus on celebrating the female spirit. Events worth traveling for include:

• Women in Wine | July and August 2024: Naviva offers a female-centric wine program, intentionally highlighting women owners, producers and vintners across Mexico who are producing thoughtful, small-batch wines. This curated list of wines speaks to the Resort’s sense of place and reinforces its focus on supporting female creators. Throughout July and August, Naviva will host tasting experiences and wine dinners that showcase these wines led by Monia de la Torre, a local sommelier, and complemented by cuisine from the Resort’s Chef Sofía Mojica.
• Raicilla, Mezcal, Tequila: A Toast to Mexico’s Spirit | July 20-27, 2024: Naviva welcomes guests to celebrate the rich heritage of Mexico's agave spirits with its first annual agave week. All week long, Naviva promises a personalized journey through the flavours that define Mexican spirit culture. This celebration features exclusive tastings and intimate dining experiences, offering a deep dive into the mythical world behind these traditional beverages, culminating in a five-course dinner for National Agave Day led by raicilla expert, producer and local tastemaker Larissa Carrillo. Joined by local expert distillers and featuring two raicillas crafted exclusively for Naviva, guests will savour a lively five-course meal from the Resort’s Chef Sofía Mojica paired with small batch agave spirits.
• Nature’s Story: Creator- and Artist-in-Residence Weekend | August 8-11, 2024:  This August, guests at Naviva can join Artist-in-Residence Javiera Pintocanales to embark on a number of creative pursuits. Javiera will guide guests through watercolour and pencil illustration, handcrafted bookbinding, botanical printmaking, and more. Each session invites guests to engage with the Resort’s natural beauty and their own artistic spirit. They will be able to take home tangible reminders of their experience, be it a detailed nature drawing, a handmade journal, or a custom print using local flora.
• Feminine Energy Reboot | August 30 - September 7, 2024: Guests are invited to embrace the elements - be it sun, rain, or anything in between - while carving out time to nurture one’s feminine energy at Naviva. They can participate in a semi-private series of movement such as dance and yoga, as well as mind and body experiences tailored for mental growth and designed to foster empathy, creativity, communication skills, and self-esteem. All genders are invited to engage fully in this enriching experience.

Evergreen Explorations of Artistry and Creativity

Complementing the limited-time events are additional immersive activities - from energy healing treatments to expressive art therapy to hands-on creative workshops. Offering tactile connections to the cultural richness of Mexico, the Resort’s lush surroundings, and one’s inner creative, many of these experiences are included as part of the Resort’s all-encompassing rates.

• Printing the Landscape: Using only leaves from the Resort’s private peninsula and a tortilla press, guests can learn how to create their own botanical prints. This simple, yet expressive technique allows them to connect with nature and capture the essence of Naviva.
• Naturalist Watercolours and Illustration: Welcoming guests to paint and be present, this artist-led session invites guests to draw inspiration from the Resort’s natural surroundings and translate it into watercolour paintings or illustrations, fostering creativity and a deeper connection to the effortless beauty of Mexico.
• Handmade Bookbinding: Guests can reconnect with their potential for creation using their own hands, constructing a handmade book to capture their experiences at Naviva. Through paper folds and simple stitches, they can build their own small notebook that can become a travel journal or a place for creative expression.
• Reset Breathwork: Through the reset breathing practice, guests will learn how to breathe thoughtfully and access to higher states of consciousness, listening to their body, connecting with their creativity and learning how to control their mind and emotions.
• Sunset Gratitude Meditation: Set against the backdrop of Nayarit's breathtaking sunsets, this group experience is both imaginative and profound. Guests are invited to settle into a collective state of gratitude and tap into uplifting energy by connecting, genuinely relating, giving thanks and calling in the new during this sunset meditation.
• Creativity Spa Pod Retreat: Guests can unlock their creative potential and nourish both body and spirit at the Creativity Spa Pod Retreat. This five-hour experience includes a Copal cleansing ritual, a nature massage, a Naturaleza body scrub, Cristalmind Shirodhara Clarity, a gemstone facial, expressive art therapy, a soak in the wooden timber tub, and a light lunch in the privacy of their spa garden.
