Miss River Fires Up the Patio with a Series of Authentic Pizza Parties with Chef Alon Shaya at Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans

Shaya beckons locals and visitors this summer with a new wood-fired oven and a personal approach to menu and design

Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans and Miss River announce a delicious lineup of new programs celebrating the installation of a wood-fired oven on the patio, a nod to Chef Alon Shaya’s time as a pizza apprentice in Italy. Expect warm hugs and plenty of “ciaos” as old and new friends gather for a family-style pizza party, a “Ciao, Enzo!” Festive Friday lunch, themed Jazz Brunch, and kids’ pizza-making classes that will have little chefs tossing dough like pros.

“Miss River is a space where both our culinary team and our guests can have fun,” says Mali Carow, General Manager, Four Seasons Hotel New Orleans. “This addition allows our chefs to have fun and play with pizza recipes not on our regular menu, and it gives our guests another reason to come out and enjoy the patio.”

The mosaic-tiled oven will serve as an action station for pizza parties akin to the backyard affairs the Shayas enjoy hosting in their own home. Chef Shaya’s special pizza menu includes a classic Margherita, Prosciutto, and a Hot Sausage and Honey pizza that marries Chef Alon’s love for Italian and Louisiana flavours. The signature Pizza Enzo, named for Chef Shaya’s pizza mentor Chef Enzo DeSantis, features mozzarella, anchovies, garlic, chili oil and a layer of mortadella. It’s a pizza so special, Chef Enzo reserved it for his friends, family, and restaurant staff. In celebration of these enhancements to Miss River, Chef Enzo will travel to New Orleans from Parma, Italy for a series of pizza events.

The Shayas are rolling out the dough and cranking up the heat for a series of mouthwatering pizza events.

“Ciao, Enzo!” Festive Friday lunch

Since opening, the Festive Friday lunch has become a tradition at Miss River, known among locals as the place to kick-off the weekend early with friends. Guests are invited to celebrate the start of summer with a special “Ciao, Enzo!” Festive Friday lunch in Miss River. The Italian-themed lunch will feature live music, Italian spritz cocktails, and wood-fired pizzas by Chef Alon Shaya and Chef Enzo the Pizzaiolo. Kids’ Pizza Classes

Chef Alon Shaya will lead two pizza-making designed for children ages 4 through 12 years old. Keep young chefs entertained with an introduction to pizza-making while parents enjoy culinary delights and classic cocktails on the patio.
