Kindness “Takes the Cake” at Four Seasons Resort Orlando with World Kindness Day Dessert Supporting Local Non-Profit
This World Kindness Day, Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort is embracing Four Seasons legacy of empathy and giving back to the community. Grounded in the belief that food is at the heart of life’s most meaningful moments, with kindness as the key ingredient, Four Seasons Orlando is uniting with the brand’s global collection of hotels and resorts to celebrate kindness through exceptional culinary experiences and hospitality. A special dessert will be offered from now through the festive season with one hundred percent of the profits from sales benefitting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, a non-profit organization that provides access to sufficient, nutritious food.
A Sweet Celebration of Kindness
In honour of World Kindness Day, Executive Pastry Chef Rabii Saber has created a decadent Blackberry Chocolate Gâteau. Saber thoughtfully crafted the delicious cake with his own key ingredients – a passion for, and vast knowledge of, chocolate. The gâteau recipe was inspired by Saber’s recent visit to Ecuador, a country renowned for its premier cacao production, where he journeyed to get a first-hand look at the natural origins of chocolate. There, he met with native cacao growers and learned from their rich traditions. “Having the opportunity to connect with Ecuadorian natives who are just as passionate about chocolate as myself was an extremely rewarding experience,” says Saber. “The kindness they extended to me by bringing me into their villages and giving me a glimpse into their world was the perfect inspiration for this special initiative.”
The indulgent dessert features a caramelized milk chocolate crémeux infused with mora fruit from the Cayambe Volcano region of Ecuador, paired with a silky dark chocolate mousse made from 75 percent cacao sourced from the Ecuadorian Amazon. A scrumptious hazelnut crunch, a glossy blackberry white chocolate glaze and a light chocolate sponge cake complete the dish, resulting in a rich tapestry of flavours and textures. The Blackberry Chocolate Gâteau is available for purchase November 13 through December 24, 2024 as a whole cake at Lickety Split for USD 85 (by special order), and as a plated dessert portion for USD 12 at Ravello and The Lobby Bar. One hundred percent of the profits from sales of both the gateau cakes and individual desserts will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida, which distributes food to 750 local nonprofit feeding programs and provides 300,000 meals each day.
Additionally, today, World Kindness Day, a group of employees from Four Seasons Resort Orlando volunteered with Second Harvest Food Bank. The team packed meals for distribution at Mercy Kitchen, Orlando.
