Equipped with family-friendly accommodations, special kids amenities, and wonderful adventures for all ages, the city-centre Hotel delivers that elusive perfect balance of comfort, fun and discovery.

Through the summer, Japan’s dynamic capital hosts a series of exciting cultural celebrations, from temple fairs to street dances and colourful parades. Located in the heart of Tokyo, with direct access to its efficient subway system, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Otemachi offers an ideal home base to participate in the city’s summertime joys.

“This summer promises to be extra special, as international travellers return to Tokyo after a hiatus of more than three years,” says Andrew De Brito, Regional Vice President and General Manager. “Our team is excited to introduce brand-new offerings, along with resumed access to perennial experiences that have made the city a family favourite across generations.”

Family-Friendly Accommodations

The Hotel’s connecting rooms and larger suites offer the convenience of going back and forth between rooms without needing to step out into the hallway – an excellent choice for multigenerational families or multiple families travelling together.

Connecting rooms are available for several categories, including Superior Room, Premier Studio and Panoramic Suite. The ultra-spacious Imperial Suite is also available in a three-bedroom configuration, with a full kitchen, dining room for 10, separate media room, and an oversized couch with splendid corner views of the Imperial Palace Gardens and Tokyo cityscapes.

As added family perks, a baby crib, extra bed or a sofa bed may also be arranged with no additional charge. There’s room for the entire family as children ages 18 and under can stay at no additional change in an adult’s room.

Otemachi Escape Package

Families can make the most of their stay with 10 percent savings on Room Rate and daily breakfast for two adults and two children (ages 18 and under). Take in breath-taking views from a sky-high room or suite, with welcome amenities for kids and additional savings on dining and spa treatments. Book the Otemachi Escape Package directly via the Hotel website.

Tailored for Little Explorers

At Four Seasons, kids stay like VIPs – just like their parents. Upon arrival, young guests are welcomed with a special check-in where they receive a Kids Passport as well as colouring activities and puzzles to keep them entertained throughout their stay. Children of all ages also enjoy access to the swimming pool, when accompanied by an adult.

The Hotel’s talented chefs take pride in creating nutritious yet tasty meals for young guests. At PIGNETO and THE LOUNGE, find dedicated Kids Menus, complimentary for ages 6 and below. Kids ages 7-12 enjoy 50 percent off on a la carte menus at both dining outlets. A Kids Menu is also available for In-Room Dining.

Young guests up to the age of 4 enjoy complimentary amenities. For the children’s comfort, pyjamas are available in three sizes and bathrobes in two sizes. For infants under 12 months, items such as a baby bathtub, blanket and high chair are available on request.

For an easier arrival experience, Four Seasons can arrange airport transfers and meet-and-greet services. Once at the Hotel, direct access to Otemachi Station and its five subway lines make it convenient to travel to Tokyo’s biggest attractions for the entire family.

Kids Wonderland Tent

Young guests ages 3-5 receive their very own indoor tent with an array of toys. Let the little ones camp out in style and watch as they create a fantasyland of their own, filled with characters and stories from their imagination. Here is playtime at its best – a way to keep busy while also nurturing creativity. The Kids Tent is complimentary for guests in Four Seasons Suites and upwards.

Four Seasons Kids Academy

This experiential learning program combines career education with tons of fun. Four Seasons Kids Academy takes kids behind the scenes of hotel life with interactive activities led by the team. As they learn about various areas of hospitality, from Food and Beverage to Housekeeping, kids will have the chance to learn skills like team work, independence and communication.

Babysitting Services

Four Seasons babysitting services allow parents to enjoy some grown-up time with their minds at ease. While the little ones are well looked after by trained childcare providers, unwind with a spa treatment, savour a romantic dinner for two, or set off on a solo adventure.

Summer Festivals

As summer flowers begin to bloom and residents don their summer kimonos (known as yukata), Tokyo is filled with life and colour, providing a vibrant backdrop for local festivals. Families can join a variety of seasonal celebrations, including temple festivals and fireworks displays. An assemblage of multisensory delights await: rejoice in spirited music-and-dance performances, taste customary Japanese snacks, and uncover local legend and lore.

The Star Festival (Tanabata) in July celebrates the once-a-year reunion of Orihime and Hikoboshi, two stars that fell in love and were separated by the Milky Way. Vivid decorations, parades and dances come together to create a fantastic festive atmosphere. In August, the Bon Festival Dance (Bon Odori) features folk performances to honour the ancestral spirits. Visitors can watch as yakuta-clad dancers gracefully circle a raised stage, festooned with bright lanterns. The city also hosts smaller local celebrations where portable shrines are paraded around neighbourhoods by different “teams.”

Tokyo for Kids

Besides summer festivities, families will find plenty of kid-friendly attractions across and around Tokyo. At the interactive city of KidZania, little ones can do everything from flying planes to directing radio programs through a range of engaging role-play games. Tokyo Dome, meanwhile, offers an amusement park for all ages, complete with bowling alleys, high-tech arcades, rollercoasters and an interactive space museum. It is also home to the city’s famed baseball stadium, where the Tokyo Giants play.

At Summerland, one of Tokyo’s largest water theme parks, families can make a splash with tidal wave lagoon pools, water slides and more. For those who prefer not to get into the water, there are lots of thrilling rides available at the adjacent theme park; think rollercoasters, Ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds.
