Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris Offers Unforgettably Romantic Experiences to Celebrate Valentine’s Day
To mark Valentine’s Day, Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris has put together several utterly romantic experiences in the heart of the French capital. Upon stepping into the Hotel’s lobby lounge, guests will be mesmerised by the show-stopping floral displays masterminded by celebrated artistic director Jeff Leatham. Vibrant tulips, orchids and roses in stunning tones of red and pink immediately catch the eye, transforming the hotel into a veritable romantic haven.
The Hotel’s three Michelin-starred restaurants once again celebrate romance with specially created Valentine’s Day menus. At three-Michelin-starred Le Cinq, Chef Christian Le Squer crafts elegant, inventive dishes that marry Breton and Parisian culinary flavours, with a 10-course menu served in the restaurant’s magnificent dining room. Guests can feast on the likes of sautéed scallop casserole, wagyu beef, and the chef’s signature spaghetti gratin, a longstanding favourite prepared with Breton lobster, and coral and vin jaune sauce. To round off this indulgent meal, guests can choose from a tempting selection of moreish delights from the restaurant’s Chocolate Trolley, from truffles and fondants to dark chocolate tarts. Each course is paired with a selection of fine wines carefully chosen by award-winning sommelier Eric Beaumard, ranked second best sommelier in the world.
At Michelin-starred Le George, Chef Simone Zanoni has devised a vibrant and zesty menu that celebrates Mediterranean cuisine. The menu features the likes of crab cornetto served with mostarda di Cremona, a delicious fruit condiment from Lombardy, and melt-in-the-mouth foie gras tortellini with asparagus and morel emulsion. Desserts include Cappuccino Cuore Mio, a brie moussed topped with a heart-shaped black truffle creation served with a cacio e pepe sauce, and Ti Amo, a flower-shaped dessert designed to be shared. Made with creamy fior di latte cheese, grapefruit and lychee with rose jam at its centre, it is accompanied by dry ice infused with rose water and served with homemade ice cream. Head sommelier Francesco Cosci, awarded Best Sommelier of Italy, is behind the carefully thought-out wine selections designed to completement each dish and proposes a specially curated wine pairing featuring some of his favourite Prestige Italian bottles. Housing more than 50,000 bottles, the George V’s impressive wine cellar is one of the most celebrated in Paris, with its unique collection of fine classical wines, and the largest collection of Italian wines in France.
At two-Michelin-starred restaurant L’Orangerie, Chef Alan Taudon creates innovative plant and fish-based dishes crafted from seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. This year’s Valentine’s Day menu offers the likes of black truffle pie with Dauphinoise potatoes, and lightly dusted turbot served in a velvety broth. The sweet creations crafted by Pastry Chef Michaël Bartocetti accompany this menu with creativity, such as hazelnut milk and spiced yuzu, and candied kumquat infused with marigold leaf and sheep milk kefir. Overlooking the Hotel’s elegant marble courtyard, L’Orangerie offers an intimate setting that is perfect for a romantic tête-à-tête.
To bring this memorable evening to a close in an intimate and inviting setting for a late-night drink, Le Bar’s experienced mixologists have also created a signature cocktail that celebrates love exuding sensuality and intensity, meant to be savoured as a duo. Inspired by the Pink Floyd rose, the same variety chosen by Jeff Leatham to adorn the various hotel’s spaces, these tequila-based creations reveal notes of ginger, cinnammon, cacao and clode, known for their aphrodisiac properties. Each cocktail will be delicately decorated with frosted rose petals, offering an elegant and refreshing last touch to the experience.
Finally, for couples wishing to relax and reconnect, a romantic escape was tailormade by therapists at the Spa, including a personalised massage and a Vitamin C Brightening Facial by renowned Swiss beauty brand Dr Burgener Switzerland. Guests can also enjoy complimentary access to the couples’ private cabin, where they can savour champagne as they unwind in complete privacy in the whirlpool tub.
