Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, a five-star oceanfront resort on Mexico’s Pacific coast, announces the re-opening of the fully reimagined Bahia, the signature beachfront seafood restaurant by Chef Richard Sandoval. Named after the Spanish word for “bay,” Bahia is set among the manzanilla trees along the Resort’s pristine Cuevas Beach and offers guests a breath-taking ocean view and a new contemporary seafood-centric grill serving the region’s freshest flavours.

“Bahia has long been our guests’ favourite beachfront dining experience in Punta Mita, set against a stunning backdrop of rolling blue waves and purple-coloured sunsets,” says John O’Sullivan, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. “With the redesign of Bahia we wanted to not only embrace our spirit of Mexican hospitality in every detail and dish, but also create more ways that guests can feel the organic energy of the magical location, whether they are sipping cocktails while swaying on the bar swings before dinner or gathering around a fire pit steps away from the ocean’s edge.”

Guests will travel down a lit tiled pathway that invites them to a lively ocean-view bar with hanging wooden swings and whimsical woven wicker bar stools. A seductive cocktail menu evokes a sense of play with signature spritzes, sangrias, and tonics such as the Queen’s Park Swizzle and Bahia Hibiscus Fizz. Other spirit-forward options include the Meztonic, which stimulates the senses with mezcal, pink grapefruit and lime, and the Lemon Guava Spritz.

Beyond the bar, guests are drawn to the main al fresco dining area where the focal point is the captivating view of white-capped waves and a large open-air kitchen where the chefs open-fire cooking methods are on display. Fitting seamlessly into the natural curvatures of its surroundings, Bahia offers a variety of seating vistas from woven wicker chairs to plush pillowed couches nestled into Punta Mita’s velvety white sand. Guests can choose to be front and centre to the Pacific Ocean with toes in the sand, nestled around an outdoor firepit, underneath the terrace or tucked away among the manzanilla trees in oversized banquettes for a more private dining experience. As the sun goes down over Banderas Bay, Bahia comes alive with the sounds of Mexican music and acoustic guitars, offering the perfect backdrop to Punta Mita’s colourful sunsets.

Bahia’s new seaside design incorporates natural elements including blonde woods, limestone and plush fabrics in neutral hues that together create an ambiance of stylish barefoot beachside dining while a new wood-fire grill exudes energy to provide a playful touch. Guests can select fresh catches of the day with their choice of house-made marinade or rub, such as a flavourful black adobo that combines a custom blend of dried chilis, ginger, garlic, and hibiscus syrup, and signature dishes including:

  • Fresh Baja oysters in fermented chili-lime sauce
  • Local catch of the day Zarandeado with spiced citrus marinade
  • Grilled octopus with crispy potatoes and aged chorizo
  • Vegetable-focused dishes such as spiced roasted cauliflower and grilled carrots and asparagus

Bahia also welcomes a new Chef de Cuisine Hasan Mehdawi, who will serve as the lead in the kitchen. Chef Hasan brings more than ten years of experience working with luxury hotels in the Middle East and is highly experienced in Mexican cuisine.

As part of its reopening, Bahia Restaurant is introducing a new standout signature experience at the bar that features a variety of tapas and wine between 4:00 and 6:00 pm every day.
