Luxury resort Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita announces that its signature on-property restaurant, Dos Catrinas, has been honoured for its outstanding wine program as part of Wine Spectator’s 2024 Restaurant Awards, which represents the world’s only awards program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service.

Dos Catrinas has won the Award of Excellence, which recognizes restaurants whose wine lists feature a well-chosen assortment of quality producers along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style. This accolade underscores the restaurant's commitment to delivering an exceptional culinary journey that celebrates the rich heritage and flavours of Mexican cuisine.

"We are thrilled to have Dos Catrinas recognized with the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence," says John O’Sullivan, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita. "This award highlights our team's unwavering passion for curating an exceptional wine program that not only showcases the finest local wines, but also shines a spotlight on the very talented female winemakers we’re fortunate enough to work with.”

The wine list at Dos Catrinas is 100% Mexican, featuring local wines sourced from each of the country’s winegrowing regions. With 95 options by-the-bottle and 18 by-the-glass, wine selections celebrate Mexico’s diversity and culture, featuring small production premium wines as well as product of sustainable and organic viticultural practices.

“To take advantage the restaurant industry’s recent and rapid growth, restaurateurs are re-investing in their wine programs,” said Marvin R. Shanken, Editor and Publisher, Wine Spectator. “Restaurants that make wine a priority are what the Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards program is all about, and we are pleased to congratulate them for their dedication to wine and exemplary wine lists.”

Located in the heart of the Resort, the stylish Dos Catrinas opened in 2019 under the helm of Executive Chef Jorge González, and is available to guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dos Catrinas aims to combine authentic Mexican fare with a contemporary twist, featuring bespoke craft cocktails and an award-winning wine list from Mónica de la Torre to complete a truly memorable dining experience.
