June 3, 2022,
Washington, DC, U.S.A.

On Saturday, June 11, 2022, for the eighth consecutive year, Four Seasons Hotel Washington, DC celebrates Global Wellness Day. This social movement marked in 100 countries across the globe is entirely non-profit and reminds the world of the importance of living well, encompassing everything from exercise and beauty treatments, spiritual teachings and ways of thinking, to the harmony between body and spirit.

This year, Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC has partnered with Sara Bobb, an LGBTQ fitness instructor, to start the Pride festivities with a moment of stillness and stretching followed by a vigorous outdoor fitness class and a delicious and colourful brunch.

Global Wellness Day Activities

  • 9:00 am: Meet on the BOURBON STEAK Patio for a moment of calm and wellness. The workout begins with a stretch to bring participants to the present moment.
  • 9:15 am: An hour-long outdoor boot camp using the natural landscape, along the historic C&O Canal as a gym.
  • 10:15 to 11:00 am: A light yet colourful breakfast is served on the BOURBON STEAK patio. Guests will be able to refuel with rainbow fruit kabobs, avocado toast, fresh fruit smoothies and sparkling Mimosas.

About the Instructor, Sara Bobb

Originally from Houston, Texas, Sara Bobb moved up to the DMV region for college, fell in love with it, and has been here ever since. After graduating college, she moved out to Rosslyn, Virginia and found Good Sweat Studio - a woman-owned social impact cycling studio. She took classes and then became a cycle instructor there. She loves bringing fun music and a good challenge to all her classes - wanting everyone who leaves to feel stronger and more accomplished than when they walked in. While Good Sweat sadly closed April 30, 2022, Sara still loves group fitness and is excited to find her next studio home and work out with guests on June 11.

About Global Wellness Day

The main goals of the day are:

  • To recognize the value of our lives
  • To pause and think, even if for just one day of the year
  • To be free from the stress of everyday life and bad habits
  • To make peace with ourselves
  • To raise awareness about living well and increase motivation, not just for today, but for the remaining 364 days of the year

Global Wellness Day is described as a global movement without any commercial purposes, meaning participating businesses cannot profit from any Global Wellness Day activations or programming. Four Seasons properties around the world celebrate Global Wellness Day by creating complimentary, wellness and self-care driven programming for their guests and local communities on June 11, 2022, in line with this year’s theme, #ThinkMagenta, which is a play on the Global Wellness Day brand colour and is focused on cultivating a positive state of mind through the steps “Stop. Breathe. Smile.”
