Revel in a Tropical Wonderland This Winter at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle
The Camp brings in the best season of the year with a series of lively events that foster meaningful connections and family bonding
A nip in the air wafts through the rustling bamboo jungles; the carpet of mist lifts off the lush tropical landscape as the first rays of the sun piece through the horizon. Dew settles on the leaves; migratory birds flock around the brimming rivers. At the beautiful confluence of Myanmar, Laos and Thailand, the Golden Triangle in Northern Thailand turns into a magical wonderland in November, highlighted by dry, sunny days. “Families that love the outdoors will not be disappointed,” smiles the proud General Manager of Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle and Chiang Mai, Sean Mosher, continuing to elaborate the experience at Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle. “Whether you are looking for adventure, relaxation, culturally immersive or simply a laid back vacation, we have an itinerary to keep pace with your rhythm,” he insists.
Jungled Glamping in the Golden Triangle
The intimate setting of the Camp lends itself naturally to family bonding. With just 15 luxury tents and an expansive two-bedroom Explorer’s Lodge, spending quality time with loved ones becomes even more meaningful. “Our pre-planned itineraries take into consideration everything that one would expect to enjoy during their stay,” says Camp Manager Paweena Waraha. Taking a cue from the setting, the sights and sounds that make up a truly immersive experience, Paweena recommends the Four Night Adventure Package this holiday season. “Stay a bit longer in our exclusive tented accommodations and choose from a multitude of activities – an intimate couple’s picnic by the river, some relaxing ‘me time’ at our outdoor jungle spa or a family hike to discover the deep-rooted cultural heritage of the region.”
A November to Remember
With the near-perfect weather in November comes a culturally-significant festival of lights – Loy Krathong. At the Camp, this poignant event takes places at the riverside, featuring a traditional Kanthok dinner displaying the rich flavours of Northern Thai cuisine. “As part of the experience, guests can make krathongs or floating candles before participating in the ritual of releasing them into the river,” explains Paweena. The Thai classical dance, folk drums, and the mesmerising Lai Rue Fai firelight procession make the evening memorable. In a fast-paced world, taking a moment to pause and acknowledge the role of each family member is cherished. “Our bar team will present a special cocktail crafted with cranberry – a classic ingredient of the season – to mark the occasion of Thanksgiving,” says Victor Milard-Ducret, Director of Restaurants and Bar.
Bringing in the Holiday Season with Fanfare
As the holiday season rolls into December, the Camp team leaves no stone unturned to ensure that guests have an indelible vacation in the Golden Triangle. On Christmas Eve, the culinary team showcases an innovative aperitif, featuring a selection of festive-inspired canapés. “Our family-style buffet dinner brings loved ones together for a joyous evening of seasonal flavours,” says Victor. The final sunset of the year calls for a spirited celebration, and the Camp team responds with pomp. “A delightful five-course New Year’s Eve dinner is followed by a dessert buffet by the riverside, accompanied by traditional Thai entertainment leading up to the midnight countdown,” says Paweena. Throughout the stay, the team delivers holiday favourites and amenities that not only resonate with the joyous tone of the season but also reflect the Camp’s community involvement and sustainable practices.
Healing and Wellbeing in the Bamboo Jungles
A vacation is never complete without some quality pampering, and the Camp’s beautiful open-air spa invite guests to unwind in nature’s cradle. “Derived from centuries-old Thai traditions, the Royal Recovery rejuvenating massage is a great way to relax after a long day out at our Camp,” says Jutatip Sakulpanitcharoen, Spa Supervisor. Warm poultices infused with camphor, lime and lemongrass are used to gently knead the body for a revitalizing experience. Inspired by the gentle meandering of the Mekong River, the Mekong Drift is another signature recommendation. “This herbal oil massage is paired using volcanic hot stones to help induce a dreamy, restorative state of mind,” suggests Jutatip. For couples, the team has curated a sensuous journey infused with floral goodness. “The Lhong Rak Chiang Rai – Couples Connect therapy begins with a Champaca Scrub, followed by a massage of your choice and a relaxing rose petal bath in our outdoor bathtub,” she elaborates. The highlight of the experience is the healing vibrations of Tibetan singing bowls, resonating deeply with the heart and making a true connection – with oneself and with nature.
“Escape the city and retreat to our beautiful haven of adventure and wonder,” invites Paweena. “This holiday season, let us help you unpack memories of a lifetime and spend quality time with loved ones while being ‘off the grid’ in the Golden Triangle of Thailand.”
