Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita to Host Catrinas Fest in Celebration of Día de Los Muertos

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, a five-star oceanfront resort nestled in the Mexican Riviera Nayarit, invites guests on a culinary exploration of traditional Mexican cuisine and cocktails at the property’s Día de Los Muertos celebration Catrinas Fest. From October 27 to 29, 2023, Dos Catrinas, the Resort’s stylish signature dining destination serving authentic Mexican fare with a contemporary twist, will host a three-day food and spirits weekend featuring notable chefs and mixologists from across the country as they highlight the region’s freshest flavours across land and sea.

Executive Chef Jorge González alongside notable visiting chefs will lead guests on a weekend-long celebration that invigorates the senses, showcasing creative twists on Mexican cuisine during oceanfront dinners, cocktail parties, interactive cooking demonstrations and more. Cocktail Reception, Friday, October 27, 2023: The weekend kicks off with a lively welcome reception, featuring live cooking demonstrations by visiting chefs and bespoke craft cocktails and a candlelit dinner at Dos Catrinas inspired by traditional Mexican tertulias or artistic social gatherings. The energetic evening is complete with professional makeup artists offering traditional Mexican body art, stilt walkers and performances from local musicians.

Día de Los Muertos, Saturday, October 28, 2023: Saturday begins with an intimate cooking class in the Dos Catrinas kitchen, followed by an introduction into mezcal and an interactive tasting of the Resort’s signature mezcal Los Mitos in Mez Bar, led by Master Mezcal Maker Alejandro Santacruz. Created exclusively for Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita in partnership with Wahaka Mezcal, Los Mitos brings the mysticism and tradition of this Mexican spirit to Punta Mita with four expressions: Chaneques, Venado Azul, Aluxes, and the recently launched Nakawé. Guests are then invited to dig their toes into the sand as they will learn authentic pre-Hispanic barbacoa cooking techniques and traditions, while enjoying local Mexican craft beer and wine. To close out the celebration, guests will experience a beachside plated four-course dinner and explore the eclectic tastes from the guest chefs with paired libations curated by guest mixologist Alejandro Santacruz.

La Vida Brunch, Sunday, October 29, 2023: Guests are invited to celebrate life and friendship at the ultimate Sunday brunch buffet at Dos Catrinas, with delectable highlights include traditional barbacoa, chilaquiles, raw bar and freshly made omelets and pancakes.
