Starting January 16, 2024, romance is set to bloom at MAISON MARUNOUCHI, the Michelin-selected Parisian-style bistro at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. Celebrate the season of love with the all-new Strawberry & Chocolate Afternoon Tea, resplendent with seasonal strawberries and premium chocolate — the all-time favourite pairing for lovebirds.

Dressed in red, pink and white, the new Afternoon Tea menu sparkles with the enchantment of a winter romance in Tokyo. Whether celebrating Valentine’s Day, White Day (March 14) or simply a special date night, couples can look forward to a magical dining experience, filled with indulgent flavours and elevated by warm Four Seasons service.

“January to March is the peak season for strawberries in Japan, and our guests will have a chance to enjoy the best of the harvest,” says Executive Pastry Chef Patrick Thibaud. “The fresh sweetness of strawberries goes beautifully with the milky smoothness of chocolate. It is truly a match made in heaven.”

Indeed, both ingredients have been favoured by lovers for centuries. Revered in Ancient Rome as a symbol of Venus, the goddess of love, strawberries have been adored down the ages for their heart shape and red colour. Chocolate, meanwhile, has signified passion ever since the time of the Aztecs.

Couples are invited to share a repertoire of six original sweets by Chef Patrick, complemented by refined savouries by Michelin-distinguished Chef Daniel Calvert. The luscious spread is served in the sunlit setting of MAISON MARUNOUCHI, framed by iconic Tokyo views. As Shinkansen bullet trains glide by, lovers will find all the inspiration they need to look back at their journey together and dream new dreams together.

Savour fairy-tale delights such as the Chocolate & Strawberry Cake, accented with almond and Chantilly cream; Chocolate & Strawberry Choux, topped with fresh strawberries; and White Chocolate & Strawberry Mousse, an interplay of crispy biscuit and silky mousse. The sweets selection includes a Strawberry Tart with fresh cream; Strawberry Panna Cotta with jelly; and Chocolate Scone with freeze-dried strawberries.

On the savoury side, discover elegant bites by Chef Daniel, the visionary talent behind SÉZANNE (2 Michelin stars). Bistro classics are skilfully recreated with a light touch, using seasonal Japanese ingredients. Couples can sample winter-inspired specialities such as the Cod Tarama with bottarga and mitsuba; Monaka, Kabosu, Tiger prawn; and Ikura tart, Tofu, Ricotta. The menu also features MAISON MARUNOUCHI signatures such as the Sausage Roll and Pumpkin Arancini.
