Taste the Summer Spirit with New Aloha Afternoon Tea at MAISON MARUNOUCHI, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi
This summer, Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi invites guests to step into the oh-so-aloha spirit with a Hawaiian-inspired Afternoon Tea experience. Woven with tropical fruits such as mango, passionfruit and coconut, the vibrant ensemble of treats evokes an irresistible sense of summertime joy.
Available in the bright, airy environs of MAISON MARUNOUCHI from June 1 to August 31, 2024, the Aloha Afternoon Tea showcases the exemplary confectionary skills of Executive Pastry Chef Patrick Thibaud.
“Nothing says summer like colourful fruits bursting with flavour. The islands of Hawaii are especially celebrated for their beautiful desserts, cocktails and smoothies, which gave us the perfect inspiration for our new menu,” he shares.
Chef Patrick’s six original sweets are complemented by elegant savoury bites conceptualized by Chef Daniel Calvert, the visionary behind SÉZANNE, the Hotel’s two Michelin star French restaurant.
Aloha Afternoon Tea
Offering a refined interpretation of kawaii, the playful Japanese aesthetic, Chef Patrick’s sweet creations tell a story, be it a tale of ingredients and origins, a conjuring of sensations, or an immersive sense of place.
The welcome drink, a delightful Mai Tai mocktail, sets the stage for a tropical journey. Inspired by Hawaii, this refreshing drink is a sunny mix of pineapple, orange and lime, garnished with a bit-sized pineapple and a red cherry that brings a pop of colour to the afternoon.
After enjoying a sip of the Mai Tai mocktail, dive into delights such as the Passionfruit & Banana Mousse, crafted with classic Hawaiian fruits such as banana and lilikoi (passionfruit), and the Mango & Lime Tart, woven around two ingredients often found in Hawaiian cocktails.
The smoothie-inspired Tropical Jelly offers a three-layered extravaganza of mango, hibiscus and vanilla, while the Chocolate Waffle Basket & Berries Cream takes inspiration from the Acai bowl, featuring a chocolate waffle basket filled with berry jelly and vanilla and berry cream.
Also on the menu is a fresh interpretation of the traditional sweet potato Haupia pie. Discover a delicious blend of cinnamon-flavoured butter sable, sweet potato curd, a layer of luscious coconut filling, and roasted coconut flakes.
