The Women Behind Thailand’s Exceptional Stays at Four Seasons Resorts Thailand
In celebration of International Women’s Day, Four Seasons Resorts Thailand shines a spotlight on the women whose leadership shapes excellence across its resorts. Rooted in a longstanding people first culture, the organisation believes that when opportunity is extended through trust and mentorship, its impact multiplies far beyond individual achievement.
At its core is a simple philosophy. Growth is never pursued alone. It is cultivated collectively, strengthened by shared responsibility, and measured by how many others are empowered to rise.
“Hospitality at Four Seasons extends beyond service” says Sean Mosher, General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai and Tented Camp Golden Triangle. “It is a culture of empowerment where women step confidently into leadership roles, supported by an inclusive and collaborative environment.”
From the shores of Koh Samui to the hills of Chiang Mai and the jungles of the Golden Triangle, Thai women bring expertise, creativity, and compassion to every facet of operations. “Their thoughtful decision making and attention to detail translate into experiences that feel deeply personal,” adds Jasjit Assi, General Manager, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui.
A Balanced Team with Local Roots
Across the three resorts, women comprise nearly half of the workforce, with ninety nine percent of employees recruited locally. Leadership roles are shared equitably between genders, reinforcing a culture where collaboration thrives and excellence is achieved collectively.
Behind these figures are leaders whose individual journeys reflect the transformative power of shared opportunity.
Thai Women Leaders Who Inspire
Paweena Waraha
Camp Manager, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle
Paweena Waraha began her hospitality career in 2004 as a receptionist, an experience that sparked her passion for cultural connection. Over eighteen years, her professional journey took her across Macau, Guangzhou, Dubai, New Zealand, Tokyo, and Osaka, progressing from Guest Relations Officer to Director of Operations. Along the way, she strengthened her commercial expertise, earning certification in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University.
Since joining Four Seasons in 2023, she has found strong alignment with the brand’s people first philosophy. As Camp Manager of the Golden Triangle Tented Camp, she leads nearly one hundred team members in one of Thailand’s most distinctive hospitality environments, balancing operational precision with meaningful community engagement.
Her leadership is grounded in recognising potential. She once mentored a team member who progressed into a Director of Rooms role within a year through structured development, honest feedback, and consistent support. From sourcing local produce to commissioning handcrafted amenities, her approach extends opportunity beyond the resort, touching lives in surrounding villages.
“Leadership means investing in people with sincerity and care, knowing that when we uplift others, we elevate ourselves together,” she says.
Pavana Kumcharean
Director of People and Culture, Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai
Pavana Kumcharean began her journey with Four Seasons in 2001 as a Learning and Development Manager, later transitioning into the People and Culture discipline during the opening of Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle, reaffirming her commitment to nurturing talent.
Over nearly two decades, she has experienced and contributed to Four Seasons’ people first growth strategy. Even as an established leader, she continues to embrace learning opportunities and regional collaboration, modelling the belief that development never stops.
Under her mentorship, two People and Culture Managers progressed from operational line roles into department heads. Through structured guidance and exposure to strategic decision-making, she supported their transition into leadership and continues to champion their advancement.
As the only female member of the Planning Committee, Pavana leads with conviction and balance, ensuring her perspective contributes meaningfully to strategic direction while remaining open to diverse viewpoints. “Providing opportunities, both big and small, allows the people around us to succeed in their careers,” she says. “It is about creating space for them to learn, develop, and grow beyond their current roles so they can advance with confidence.”
Piyanart Potjanathum
Senior Director of Sales, Four Seasons Resorts Thailand
Piyanart Potjanathum’s career reflects steady progression shaped by a deep passion for hospitality. Starting in an entry level role, she built a strong foundation in service excellence and teamwork, her curiosity and openness to new challenges leading her into senior leadership. With professional experience spanning the United States and India before returning to Thailand, she now brings a global perspective to shaping nationwide sales strategy across Four Seasons Resorts Thailand.
Throughout her journey, Four Seasons has supported her growth through structured leadership development, continuous learning opportunities, and mentorship from senior executives. The brand’s culture of genuine care empowered her to build confidence and strengthen her leadership voice.
Today, she channels that same commitment into developing others. By mentoring emerging talent and strengthening onboarding across functions, she helps colleagues understand service standards while encouraging them to bring their own strengths forward. For Piyanart, leadership is measured not by personal advancement, but by the growth of those around her. “Seeing others gain confidence and succeed is incredibly rewarding,” she shares.
Nalinya Tepsuwan
Director of Finance, Four Seasons Resort Koh Samui
With stewardship over data, performance, and long-term planning, Nalinya Tepsuwan demonstrates finance is also a people strategy. In an environment where precision and accountability are paramount, she brings clarity and stability that guide strategic decision making across the resort.
Beyond numbers, Nalinya focuses on nurturing analytical confidence among young professionals. By mentoring emerging talent and encouraging structured thinking, she helps colleagues understand that financial insight is not simply about reporting performance but about shaping possibility. Through calm guidance and steady expertise, she transforms data into a tool for empowerment.
“Leadership means creating clarity and confidence so others can step forward with courage,” she shares. Her approach reflects the strength of quiet, consistent influence, an essential force in sustainable organisational growth.
Empowerment Across and Beyond the Resort
Across spa, culinary, guest services, housekeeping, and corporate functions, women uphold the exacting standards that define the Four Seasons experience. Their dedication and craftsmanship shape each guest journey with care and precision.
At Four Seasons Resorts Thailand, growth is never achieved alone. A culture of openness and collaboration, embraced by the entire team regardless of gender, age, or background, transforms opportunity into shared achievement. Excellence is sustained not through competition, but through trust, mentorship, and collective empowerment.
The impact of these leaders extends into the communities surrounding each resort. At the Golden Triangle, local women artisans are commissioned to create handcrafted textiles and amenities. Across properties, produce is sourced locally, partnerships are cultivated with intention, and opportunity circulates beyond the gates of the resorts.
This International Women’s Day, empowerment is not positioned as a campaign. It is a practice lived daily through mentorship conversations, career progression, village partnerships, and the quiet confidence of women leading with intention.
Because in the most meaningful form of leadership, growth is never taken. It is given.
