Four Seasons Hotel Milano Brings the Après Ski to the City and Partners with Courmayeur Mont Blanc, a Favourite Alpine Ski Resort of the Milanese

November 30, 2022,
Milan, Italy

This year, the iconic Four Seasons Hotel Milano will surprise Milanese and tourists alike with whimsical holiday decorations in collaboration with the beloved Alpine resort Courmayeur Mont Blanc. Far from the slopes, the Hotel presents an “après ski” in the heart of Milan’s fashion district.

The holidays are an opportunity to be playful, to explore one’s dreams, to give way to wondrous ideas. Creative Director Vincenzo Dascanio has once again outdone himself to create a fairy-tale atmosphere at Four Seasons Hotel Milano and to bring the idea of après ski to life in a city setting.   Guests entering in the Hotel will encounter a fantasy winter setting, an intertwining of vintage ski elements with humorous penguins riding on stylized ski lifts and decorations of Christmas trees made out of duvet covers and much, much more.

On the Hotel’s terrace, guests will be able to take an imaginary ride into the Alps in one of two vintage cable car gondolas dating from 1947. Courmayeur Mont Blanc has one of the most international ski areas in the Alps and is famous for its iconic après ski happy hour on the slopes.  The gondolas are on loan directly from Skyway Monte Bianco, the cableway that departs from Courmayeur at an altitude of 1,300 metres (4,265 feet) and reaches Punta Helbronner at 3,466 metres (11,371 feet).

Four Seasons Hotel Milano will be a must-stop on the Milanese holiday circuit this year and not just for the fabulous decorations. Executive Chef Fabrizio Borraccino and Bar Manager Luca Angeli created the après ski themed menu in collaboration with the food and beverage team from Courmayeur’s Skyway. It features cocktails and dishes that evoke flavours and ingredients typical of Italy’s Valle d’Aosta including a selection of regional cheeses, mocetta cheese and fried polenta or focaccia with Génépi infused prosciutto, fontina cheese and wild chicory.

To complete the partnership with Courmayeur Mont Blanc, Four Seasons Hotel Milano has also created a series of experiences in the Alps available to its Hotel guests upon request. The Concierge team will be happy to arrange any one of a series of exciting day trips to Courmayeur with round trip helicopter transportation. For the adrenaline junkie, the Hotel can arrange a day of heli-skiing, and for those who want a more low-impact experience, a scenic trek on snowshoes. Other itineraries on offer include a sled dog driven carriage ride or heading up Mont Blanc with the Skyway cable car followed by a delicious lunch in their Kartell Room.

The festive season at Four Seasons Hotel Milano would not be complete without an artisanal panettone created by the talented Executive Pastry Chef Daniele Bonzi, also for sale in the Hotel as of December 1, 2022 nor a special menu for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve conceived by Executive Chef Borraccino for the Hotel’s restaurant Zelo.  For more information about the Hotel’s festive program click here.
