Luxury Southern California hotel opens new outdoor pool, recreation, and culinary masterpiece
Following a multiphase hotel-wide transformation, the award-winning Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village debuts its highly anticipated capstone project – The Cove Pool, Kitchen & Bar.
Situated on more than 2-acres of the sprawling 12-acre Four Seasons Hotel Westlake Village, The Cove is an outdoor space that evokes the carefree and lively spirit of Southern California. Drawing inspiration from the sea, sand, mountains and skies, The Cove’s social atmosphere takes guests on a relaxing journey to find solace in the year-round golden sun while enjoying poolside pampering, meticulous design details, and sincere Four Seasons hospitality.
Design Features of The Cove
As one of California’s largest luxury pool concepts, The Cove features three whirlpool spas, a grand pool, terraced lounge seating, luxe private daybeds, swaying hammocks flanked by towering date palm trees, a raised bocce ball court, a working greenhouse for private wellness experiences and an outdoor restaurant and bar. The nearly USD 20 million pool, restaurant and bar project set among the picturesque Santa Monica Mountains was architecturally imagined by Los Angeles based architect firm Brooks + Scarpa and furnished by designers EDG and Looney & Associates.
Through its structural design and thoughtful colour palette, The Cove evokes the character and personality of the glistening coastline. Colours such as cobalt blue, turquoise, burnt orange and greens compliment teak woods and fresh white metals, while the vaulted white and aluminum steel canopy, an architectural fixture of The Cove, resembles the curvature of a rhythmic ocean wave. As the sun sets on The Cove, tiki torches and a forty-foot-long fire wall illuminate the space at golden hour, adding to the warm glow and ambient setting.

Flavours of The Cove
Flavours from the shores of Baja California and vibrant Mediterranean regions celebrate seasonality and local ingredients at The Cove. Driven by Executive Chef Jesus Medina, the Baja Med menu includes:
- Shrimp Aguachile with cucumber and yuzu broth, serrano, grapefruit, cilantro
- Labneh with zaatar, honey, house-baked bread
- Jidori Chicken Milanese with garlic aioli heirloom tomato, arugula, fennel, parmesan
- Baja Style Tacos with avocado cabbage, cilantro, matcha aioli, homemade corn tortillas
- Wood-fired Calabrese Pizza with tomato, mozzarella, honey, basil
